Sarah Crawford named Director of Exhibitions

We are pleased to announce that Sarah Crawford has been appointed as Director of Exhibitions of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Pittsburgh, PA, effective November 23, 2020. Sarah succeeds Becca Shreckengast, who departed the museum earlier in 2020. Museum Search and Reference guided the national search, with Dan Keegan as Lead Consultant.

Center for Maine Contemporary Art

Timothy Peterson appointed as Executive Director and Chief Curator.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Timothy Peterson as Executive Director and Chief Curator of the Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA), Rockland, ME, effective January 18, 2021. Tim succeeds Suzette McAvoy, who will retire at the end of December after more than 10 years at the helm of CMCA. Museum Search and Reference guided the national search, with Dan Keegan as Lead Consultant.

Kent dur Russell, Executive Director of the Museum of Russian Icons, Clinton, MA, announced that Dr. Lana Sloutsky was appointed Curator of Collections and Exhibitions. In her role, Sloutsky will work to deepen the understanding of the museum’s permanent collection and be responsible for developing exhibitions and related programs; developing a collection plan, initiating collection research and acquisition, and connecting MoRI to other scholars and institutions worldwide, while continuing to reach out to the local town and region. She will start on September 14, 2020.

The Museum of Texas Tech University

Aaron Pan appointed Director

We are also pleased to announce that the Museum of Texas Tech University has appointed Aaron David Pan, PhD, as its new Executive Director. Texas Tech University Provost Michael Galyean announced that Dr. Pan was chosen after a nationwide search and that he will assume his duties on May 18, 2020. He also will have a faculty appointment as associate professor. The search was guided by Senior Search Consultant Connie Rosemont of Museum Search & Reference.
