Naomi Slipp appointed Chief Curator

We are pleased to announce that Naomi Slipp, Ph.D. has been appointed the Douglas and Cynthia Crocker Chief Curator of the New Bedford Whaling Museum in New Bedford, MA. Slipp will lead the Curatorial, Collections and Library teams and partner with Whaling Museum staff and trustees to articulate a vision and strategy for public engagement through a wide range of exhibitions, publications and programs. Museum Search & Reference guided the national search, with Lora Urbanelli as Lead Consultant. Slipp will join the Museum on August 30, 2021.

Morgan Pierce appointed Executive Director

Sarah Crawford named Director of Exhibitions

We are pleased to announce that Sarah Crawford has been appointed as Director of Exhibitions of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Pittsburgh, PA, effective November 23, 2020. We are pleased to announce the appointment of Timothy Peterson as Executive Director and Chief Curator of the Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA), Rockland, ME, effective January 18, 2021. Tim succeeds Suzette McAvoy, who will retire at the end of December after more than 10 years at the helm of CMCA.
