Hyonjeong Kim Han appointed Joseph de Heer Curator of Asian Art and Einor Keinan Cervone appointed Associate Curator of Asian Art

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Hyonjeong “HJ” Kim Han as the Denver Art Museum’s new Joseph de Heer Curator of Asian Art. Han will oversee the museum’s Asian art collection - which includes objects from China, India, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, Southwest Asia and the Himalayas - and continue the museum’s commitment to bringing world-class special exhibitions to Denver and showcasing its own stunning collection. She began her new role on September 30, 2021.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Akiko Takesue as Bishop White Committee Associate Curator of Japanese Art & Culture at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM). Senior Search Consultant Connie Rosemont guided the international search for Museum Search & Reference. Dr. Takesue, in her new role, will develop and implement strategies to build, manage, and interpret the ROM’s world-class collection of Japanese art and culture through exhibitions and public programs.

Naomi Slipp appointed Chief Curator

We are pleased to announce that Naomi Slipp, Ph.D. has been appointed the Douglas and Cynthia Crocker Chief Curator of the New Bedford Whaling Museum in New Bedford, MA. Slipp will lead the Curatorial, Collections and Library teams and partner with Whaling Museum staff and trustees to articulate a vision and strategy for public engagement through a wide range of exhibitions, publications and programs. Museum Search & Reference guided the national search, with Lora Urbanelli as Lead Consultant. Slipp will join the Museum on August 30, 2021.

Morgan Pierce appointed Executive Director

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Morgan Pierce as Executive Director of the Park City Museum. Pierce was chosen after a nationwide search led by Scott Stevens of Museum Search & Reference, and he will assume his new duties on July 15, 2021, succeeding interim director Andrew Cohen.
