Dr. Rosina Buckland appointed the Bishop White Committee Curator of Japanese Art & Culture

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Rosina Buckland will be the new Curator, Japanese Art & Culture of the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto, Canada. 

Josh Basseches, Director & CEO and Mark Engstrom, Deputy Director for Collections and Research, Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Rosina Buckland as Bishop White Committee Curator of Japanese Art & Culture.

Serena Pandos appointed Executive Director and President

We are pleased to announce that Serena Pandos will be the new Executive Director and President of the Louisiana Art & Science Museum, Baton Rouge, LA. 

The Museum's Board of Directors unanimously appointed Serena Pandos to be the museum's next President and Executive Director, replacing Carol Gikas who will retire at the end of January after leading LASM for 39 years. Scott Kirkpatrick, President of the Board, said, "We are delighted to announce Serena's appointment and are all thrilled with her energy and enthusiasm for our mission, staff and community. Carol is leaving behind a tremendous legacy. The museum has flourished under her leadership and we are excited for Serena to carry on this excellent work." 

V. Susan Fisher appointed Executive Director

We are pleased to announce that V. Susan Fisher will be the new Executive Director of the Mystic Museum of Art, CT. 

David Madacsi, the Mystic Museum's Board President, said that, "The appointment by the Board was unanimous," and he continued "We are delighted to announce Susan's appointment. We are impressed with Susan's leadership experience and skill sets and how well they align with the Mystic Museum of Art's goals for its next chapter, and we were all charmed by her energy and enthusiasm for our mission, staff and community." 

Carole Ann Fabian appointed Director of Collections

We are pleased to announce that Carole Ann Fabian has been appointed Director of Collections for the Corning Museum of Glass, Corning, NY. 

Fabian comes to this position after more than 9 years at Columbia University in New York City, where she served as the Director for the Avery Architectural & Fine Arts Library. At the Avery Library, she oversaw acquisitions, grants and advancement initiatives for both operations and endowments, renovated the Library's 1974 addition, and initiated the Digital Avery program. Prior to that she worked at ARTstor Digital Library as a Planning, Outreach and Communications Officer, and before that as Associate Librarian at the University of Buffalo, SUNY. Early in her career she was an intern at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery and an Associate Provenance Archivist and Curatorial Assistant in Paintings at the Getty Museum.

Julia Courtney appointed Collections Curator

Julia Courtney is the new Collections Curator at the Art Complex Museum (ACM) in Duxbury, MA. 

Director Charles Weyerhaeuser announced the appointment of Julia Courtney as its new Collections Curator, effective August 16, 2018. She will oversee the 8,000-piece permanent collection of the ACM, built by museum founders Carl and Edith Weyerhaeuser. "After a national search, we are delighted to have found Julia, who brings several decades of experience working with permanent collections and producing publications," said Search Committee chair Andy Bentinck-Smith.

Joseph Antenucci Becherer, Ph.D. appointed Director

Joseph Antenucci Becherer will be the new Director of the Snite Museum of Art at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.

Becherer, the founding director and curator of the sculpture program at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan joined Meijer Gardens in 1999, and became its chief curator and vice president of sculpture and horticulture, collections and exhibitions in 2009. He also is the Lena Meijer Professor in the History of Art at Aquinas College, where he teaches courses in Renaissance, Baroque and Contemporary art.
